After graduating from the
University of
Waterloo with a degree in
Mechanical
Engineering, I started work at
Pratt &
Whitney Canada (PWC), where I was a Combustion Aerodynamics Analyst. While
at PWC, I started my MEng (course based Masters) part-time at the
University of Toronto. Nearly two and a half
years later, I left PWC to pursue my Masters full time which allowed me to
finish a thesis based Master's (MASc) in
Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.
In 2008 I started my PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering at Purdue.  In 2009, I won an
NSERC Postgraduate
Scholarship.  I defended my dissertation in July 2012 and started to work for Power System Manufacturing LLC (a subsidiary of Alstom S.A.) in the R&D department.  I left Power System Manufacturing after one year and joined GE at the Global Research Center in Niskayuna, NY.
